About me

I am “just a ranch wife” and mother living in South Dakota. This wasn’t my first profession (I’m a CFO/Bookkeeper by trade), but it sure is my favorite job.  I LOVE where I live, what I do, and who I get to work with every day.  We are cattle ranchers and are involved in a family business.   We are also a combined family and have “his, mine, and ours.”  All of these things are blessings, and stress creators!  However, we love our way of life and would choose no other. Life is Grand!

And now you have another academic economist who saw that link, and who lives in southwestern Utah (ranching country, but I don’t ranch) who’s also reading your stuff. BTW: went through West River twice in the last 5 years as a tourist and loved it.

Nice to meet you, Mr. Tufte. Crazy enough, my husband’s father had some land that was “the old Tufte place” not far from where we live. Relation?
